Wickenburg FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) prepares high school students for careers in business through academic competitions, leadership development, and educational programs. Through a variety of community service and academic competitions, students are given the necessary resources to become college and career ready. Our community service includes activities such as the annual Santa Photoshoot and a professional clothing drive. FBLA’s academic competitions give students the opportunity to compete against the best-of-the-best from all 50 states, Europe, District of Columbia, U.S Virgin Islands, and Puerto Rico in over 60 academic events that cover technology, public speaking, business, film, finance, management, and more. The top winners take home trophies and cash from sponsored events, and FBLA members enjoy the benefits of discounts, scholarships, awards, and lots of fun.

From September 19th-21st, Wickenburg FBLA officers and a few other members had the chance to attend the 2019 AZ FBLA Leadership Camp located in Prescott, AZ. Members were able to meet others from 35 other FBLA chapters in Arizona and participate in various activities to improve their leadership skills and learn how to improve their chapter.

Each member that attended camp was split up into a color team with other FBLA members from Arizona. Teams worked together in fun activities such as "Color Team Madness", a dodgeball tournament, lip sync battles, and more. Each team even created a name and theme for themselves such as "The Black Mambas", "Royal Rebels", "The Banana Band", and more.

Five Wickenburg FBLA members were awarded for their time during Leadership Camp. Anna Hall's Yellow Team was awarded for best team sign, Joel Jepsen's Brown Team for best lip sync performance, Danny Smith's Royal Blue Team for being Dodgeball Champions, and Maria Benitez Padilla's Black Team for the best chant. Denton Ballas received a Building Better Member's (BBM) award for his positive attitude, leadership, and enthusiasm, which only 10 members out the 300 at camp were able to earn. Wickenburg FBLA is very proud of our members, and they all had a blast during this three-day adventure.
